Access Database Takeover Support
Your Access developer left. Now what?
The work still has to get done. We can take over an Access system built by someone else, even when there are no notes.
Start with the work that matters most.
Show us how you make a quote, book a job, or run a report. Tell us what breaks and who needs it. We use those steps to work out what to check first.
Gather what you can.
You do not need to know what each file does. A list of what you have helps us plan the review.
- The Access files your team uses
- Any old copies or backups
- A list of linked files and tools
- Old notes, if you have them
- The tasks that must keep working
Check the files before changing them.
We look for the code, the data, and the links between them. We check what we can edit. We save a copy and agree on the first fixes with you. Some files may need an older source copy before we can change the code.
Leave a clear guide for your team.
We write down where the files live, how key tasks work, and what changed. We note known faults and next steps. Then we can set up a plan for future help.
Questions you may have
Can you help if the old developer will not reply?
Yes, we can start with your files and your team. We will tell you if missing code or access stops a part of the work.
Should we send the database by email?
Start with a short note about the fault. Do not send live data or passwords in the contact form. We can agree on a safe way to share files.
Will work have to stop?
We plan changes around your team. We test on a copy where we can and agree on any time needed to switch to the fixed version.
Tell us where you need help.
Tell us what the tool does and what needs to change. A short note is enough to start. Please keep live data and passwords out of the form.
